Company blacklist — exclude companies from screening

Maintain a team-wide list of companies whose current employees are automatically excluded from screening, with manual entry, paste, and CSV import.

The company blacklist protects you from approaching the wrong people — for example your own clients, companies with a no-poach agreement, or your own organization. Candidates who currently work at a blacklisted company are excluded from screening across all recruitment campaigns.

Where to find it

Go to Settings → Team Settings and open the Company blacklist tab. (Team Settings is only visible to owners.)

The page shows one card: Blacklisted companies, marked with a Knockout badge — being on the list excludes a candidate outright, regardless of how well they score otherwise.

Adding companies manually

  1. Click into the input field.

  2. Type a company name and press Enter — it appears as a chip.

  3. Repeat for each company. Click the × on a chip to remove it.

  4. Click Save.

Importing a list (paste or CSV)

For longer lists you don't need to type entries one by one:

  • Paste a list — copy a list with one company per line and paste it into the input. Entries are split into individual companies automatically.

  • Import CSV — click Import CSV and select a .csv or .txt file. The file is parsed and each company is added as a chip.

After an import you'll see how many companies were added. Duplicates are skipped automatically — if everything in your file is already on the list, you'll see "No new companies found — all entries are already on the list." Remember to click Save afterwards.

💡 Tip: The list holds up to 500 companies. If an import goes over the limit, the extra entries are skipped and you'll see a warning.

How it combines with per-campaign blacklists

Campaigns can add their own blacklisted companies in their screening criteria (for example, the client you're recruiting for on that specific role). At screening time, the two lists are merged:

  • The account-level list here applies to all recruitment campaigns.

  • Per-campaign additions apply only to that campaign, on top of the account list.

A campaign can therefore extend the blacklist, but never remove a company that's on the account-level list.

FAQ

Who can edit the blacklist? Any member with the Owner role on the team.

Does the blacklist affect people who used to work at a listed company? No — only candidates whose current employer is on the list are excluded.

Does adding a company remove candidates that were already screened? No. The blacklist is applied at screening time. Profiles screened before the change keep their result until you re-screen them.
