Notifications — staying on top of what needs attention

How in-app notifications work, what triggers them, and how to get notified by email or Slack when something needs your attention.

NoRecruit notifies you when something needs your attention: a candidate replied, a screening run finished, a message is waiting for approval, or a connection dropped. Notifications arrive in-app, and optionally by email or Slack.

Where to find it

Click the bell icon at the top of the sidebar. A red badge shows how many unread notifications you have. The panel that opens is titled Notifications.

What triggers a notification

Typical notifications include:

  • Replies and engagement"New message from {candidate}", "{candidate} accepted your connection request", and "{contact} wants to speak to {candidate}" when someone responds to a candidate introduction.

  • Campaign progress — screening completed (with how many profiles were saved or skipped), import completed, and LinkedIn sync completed for a project.

  • Approvals"Message approval required for {candidate} in campaign {campaign}" when a message is waiting in your training queue.

  • Daily summary — how many messages are scheduled for today.

  • Connection health — your LinkedIn, WhatsApp, or Email connection was connected, needs re-authentication, stopped syncing, or was removed. An import failure also tells you to reconnect LinkedIn.

Each notification shows how long ago it happened. Click a notification to jump to the related page, or click the × to dismiss it.

Notifications use color-coded icons: blue for informational updates, yellow for warnings (something needs a look), and red for errors (something is broken, such as a dropped connection).

Email notifications

For connection problems — the ones you really don't want to miss — you can also get an email:

  1. Go to Settings → Personal Settings → Integrations.

  2. Turn on Email me when a connection needs attention.

You'll receive an email if your LinkedIn, WhatsApp, or Email integration disconnects or needs re-authentication. In-app notifications stay on either way.

💡 Tip: Keep this toggle on. A disconnected LinkedIn account silently pauses your campaigns — the sooner you reconnect, the less momentum you lose.

Slack notifications

If you prefer Slack, connect it under Settings → Personal Settings → Integrations with Connect Slack. Then, under Slack Settings, choose what you want to receive:

  • Notifications — general notifications in Slack.

  • Approval Requests — review and approve outreach messages directly from Slack.

  • Daily Summary — a daily overview of scheduled messages at 08:00.

FAQ

Do notifications cover my whole team? You see notifications for your own user account and for the team workspace you're in — for example, a completed screening in your team's project shows up for the team.

Can I turn off in-app notifications? No — in-app notifications are always on so nothing critical gets lost. You control the extra channels: connection-issue emails and Slack.

I dismissed a notification by accident — can I get it back? Dismissing removes it from the panel. The underlying item is still available in its own place (inbox message, activity, approval queue), so nothing is lost.
